Participants must pick up their race packet at Edgewater Park on Friday, August 11 from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm.
Each participant must plan to pick up their packet on Friday as there is NO packet pick-up on Saturday.
Participants must pick up their own race packet. Relay team members should all arrive at packet pick-up at the same time.
Yes, You are required to rack your bike from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm on Friday at Transition 1 behind the Great Lakes Science Center garage. No bikes will be allowed in or out of transition without a bike number and corresponding wristband. Transition 1 security will be provided from the start of bike check-in until all bikes have exited Transition 1 on race morning.
Participants may drop off their run gear on Friday or Saturday at Edgewater Park. Friday Transition 2 will be open Friday during packet pick-up and Saturday morning before boarding the shuttle. No one will be allowed in Transition 2 without an official race wristband.
(There will be security on Friday night.)
All participants will be shuttled to the start from Edgewater Park (location of Transition 2) on race morning and no bicycles will be allowed on the buses. All buses will be leaving at 4:00 am through 5:45 am. If your family is dropping you off, please indicate this when registering online so we may plan accordingly.
Special Note: Family members watching the swim at North Coast Harbor may be required to stay until all participants have completed the swim and have left the park on their bicycles.
Participants will find ample parking at the designated parking area at Edgewater Park. There is limited parking near the Great Lakes Science Center.

Yes, You may team up with two of your buddies and participate on a 3-person relay team (one swimmer, one biker, and one runner). We offer relays for Sprint & Olympic distances.
All participants will be issued one gear bag for their swim to bike transition. All participants are REQUIRED to place their swim/warmup gear into this bag before leaving transition and place it in the box at the end of their rack. Volunteers will collect the bag and it will be returned to Transition 2 at Edgewater Park.
Participants may start picking up their gear bags starting at 10:00 am at Edgewater Park (near the finish line). Please be sure to keep your wristband on until after you pick up your gear bags.
No, this is a multi-lane major city highway and is inaccessible before race day to practice riding a bike.
There will be tech support on-site at Transition 1 with several dozen pumps to use on race morning. If your wheels use a special adapter please be sure to bring that with you on race morning.
Yes, family members may drop you off at Transition 1.

The water temperature will be in the low 70s to upper 70s depending on the weather the week of the race. Wetsuits will be allowed if under 78 degrees for age group participants.
Yes, all participants will be issued an official race swim cap and it MUST be worn during the entire swim portion of the race. This is for safety reasons for our team, volunteers, and other support crew to keep track of each swimmer.
No, there will be no swim warm-up before the race. We suggest that you do dryland warming up before you enter the water.
Tri CLE Rock Roll Run has a NO REFUND and NO TRANSFER policy.
However, Tri CLE Rock Roll Run will offer 75% of your race entry fee credit toward the 2024 future Tri CLE Rock Roll Run events.

No, only you and you can pick up your race packet. You MUST bring a valid ID to packet pick up.
There will be NO aid stations on the bike course. There will be water, ice, and electrolyte drink at approximately every mile of the run course. Please prepare accordingly.
The swim, bike, and run courses will have visible course markings. The swim will have buoys to mark the swim course. The bike course will have arrows on the road and signs marking each race distance. The run course will have arrows on the path and course signs marking each race distance.
Yes, we will have a finishers medal for every athlete that finishes the race.
Athletes can park their car on Erieside Ave (north of the Great Lake Science Center parking garage) for 15 minutes to take their gear into Transition 1. Athletes will be able to walk their gear through the North Coast Harbor Parking lot to get to Transition 1. DO NOT park in the North Coast Harbor Parking lot to drop off gear.

Yes, we will send out an Athlete Guide to registered athletes as we get closer to the race weekend.
The volunteers and athletes have different schedules since the volunteers will be setting up various areas to get ready for the athletes.
Tri CLE may be delayed or canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather. Should the event be delayed, the starting time of the event will be moved back accordingly. The delay will be communicated to all participants.
The Tri CLE management team and local law enforcement have the authority to cancel an event. If cancellation of an event takes place, please follow the instructions of the event officials and local law enforcement personnel.
Your entry fee is not refundable if an event is canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather.
The Race Director also reserves the right to modify the course at any time before or during an event by his/her own judgment or if instructed by local law enforcement personnel or park officials.
No, the race will not be rescheduled. Given the permitting process (North Coast Harbor, Memorial Shoreway/Route 2, Cleveland Metroparks, police, and the like) Tri CLE is unable to be rescheduled.
To change your race distance, visit the Transfer page by 11:59 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023 to complete your transfer.
Youth aged 13-19 can race Triathlon & Duathlon races.
Due to the length and demands of the Olympic distance races, Tri CLE race leadership wants to ensure the youth participant is comfortable with the distance and understands the challenges it brings.

Relay team members with 2 members will need to complete consecutive relay legs. Swim & bike or bike & run. This rule is in place as race leadership cannot guarantee that the shuttle service will get the swimmer to Transition 2 in time for the run portion.
There is no relay team option for Super Sprint distance.
Tri CLE will offer online registration until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
There will be no on-site registration on Friday, August 11, 2023, nor on race day, Saturday, August 12, 2023.
Tri CLE is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned event. An athlete's age for our race will be the participant's age as of Dec. 31, 2023. The participant's age on 12/31 will determine the racing age group. If the participant is due to “age-up” into the next group, it will happen at the beginning of the year, not after the participant's birthday.
This is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event. To participate in Tri CLE, each participant must have either a USAT Annual Membership or a USAT One-Day License to participate in this event. During registration, each participant will give their annual membership number or buy a one-day license (which is $15.00).
