Participants are strongly recommended to pick up their packet & timing chip on Saturday.
Racking your bike on Saturdaybetween the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM is suggested but optionalM. All bikes must be racked on Sunday before the transition area closes.
Should athletes arrive late to rack their bike, they will not be allowed to participate.
Bike sticker kit stickers will need to be affixed to the bike BEFORE entering transition.
Participants may drop off their run gear on Saturday or Sunday at Edgewater Park.
On Saturday, the transition will be open from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Sunday, the Transition open & close time is being determined.
No one will be allowed in Transition without an official race wristband.
Yes, Participants can have someone else pick up their race packet & drop off their bike.
However, the person picking up the packet must have a copy of the athlete’s ID and written verification from the athlete that the individual picking up the packet is authorized to do so.
Yes, the transition area at Edgewater Park will have overnight security.
Participants will find ample parking at the designated parking area at Edgewater Park.
Yes, You may team up with two of your buddies and participate on a 3-person relay team (one swimmer, one biker, and one runner). We offer relays for Sprint & Olympic distances.
No, this is a multi-lane major city highway and is inaccessible before race day to practice riding a bike.
There will be tech support on-site at Transition with pumps to use on race morning. If your wheels use a special adapter please be sure to bring that with you on race morning.
The water temperature will be in the low 70s to upper 70s depending on the weather the week of the race. Wetsuits will be allowed if under 78 degrees for age group participants.
Yes, all participants will be issued an official race swim cap and it MUST be worn during the entire swim portion of the race. This is for safety reasons for our team, volunteers, and other support crew to keep track of each swimmer.

Participants will be allowed to practice swimming in Lake Erie at Edgewater Beach before the race. However, they will not be allowed to swim near the course and/or the buoys.
Everyone MUST be out of the water before the first wave starts at 6:30 AM.
Tri CLE Rock Roll Run has a NO REFUND and NO TRANSFER to another person or race year policy.
However, Tri CLE Rock Roll Run will offer 75% of your race entry fee credit toward the 2025 future Tri CLE Rock Roll Run events.

There will be NO aid stations on the bike course. There will be water, electrolyte drink, and ice at approximately every mile of the run course. Please prepare accordingly.
The swim, bike, and run courses will have visible course markings. The swim will have buoys to mark the swim course. The bike course will have arrows on the road and signs marking each race distance. The run course will have arrows on the path and course signs marking each race distance.
Yes, we will have a finishers medal for every athlete that finishes the race.
Yes, we will send out an Athlete Guide to registered athletes as race weekend gets closer.
The volunteers and athletes have different schedules since the volunteers will be setting up various areas to get ready for the athletes.
Tri CLE may be delayed or canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather. Should the event be delayed, the starting time of the event will be moved back accordingly. The delay will be communicated to all participants.
The Tri CLE management team and local law enforcement have the authority to cancel an event. If cancellation of an event takes place, please follow the instructions of the event officials and local law enforcement personnel.
Your entry fee is not refundable if an event is canceled due to adverse, inclement, or unsafe weather.
The Race Directors reserve the right to modify the course at any time before or during an event her own judgment or if instructed by local law enforcement personnel or park officials.
No, the race will not be rescheduled. Given the permitting process (Memorial Shoreway/Route 2, Cleveland Metroparks, police, and the like) Tri CLE is unable to be rescheduled.
Tri CLE reserves the right to make changes leading up to and on race day depending on weather, the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Police, and other entities that Tri CLE works with to put on the race.
Tri CLE has the right to adjust any part of the race due to circumstances such as weather, acts of God, and the like.
The Tri CLE Team takes any race adjustments (such as course updates, packet pick-up timing, transition updates, and the like) seriously. The team will communicate this information through our social media channels, newsletter, email, PA announcements, and any other form of communication to be transparent about these changes.
To change your race distance, visit the Transfer Page by 11:59 PM on Monday, August 5, 2024 to complete your transfer. Participants may be charged a difference in the race cost (if applicable).
After this date, participants can transfer to another sub-event and will be charged the difference of the race (if applicable), a $10 Transfer Fee for this change, and the Processing Fee + Tax.
Participants have until 5:30 PM on Friday, August 16, to make this change.

Youth aged 13-19 can race Triathlon & Duathlon races.
Due to the length and demands of the Olympic distance races, Tri CLE race leadership wants to ensure the youth participant is comfortable with the distance and understands the challenges it brings.

Tri CLE is participating in the USAT HS Program to encourage HS and youth athletes in the sport of triathlon. In accordance with this program, there will be separate swim waves for HS/youth athletes at Tri CLE.
Relay teams are not offered for the Super Sprint distance, Sprint Triathlon, or the Olympic Duathlon.
Tri CLE will offer online registration until 11:59 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
There will be no on-site registration on Saturday, August 17, 2024, nor on race day, Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Tri CLE is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned event. An athlete's age for our race will be the participant's age as of December 31, 2024. The participant's age on 12/31 will determine the racing age group. If the participant is due to “age-up” into the next group, it will happen at the beginning of the year, not after the participant's birthday.
Should the swim portion of the triathlon or aquabike be canceled, the race will turn into a run-bike-run for the triathletes and a run-bike for the aquabike athletes.
This is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event. To participate in Tri CLE, each participant must have either a USAT Annual Membership or a USAT One-Day License to participate in this event. During registration, each participant will give their annual membership number or buy a one-day license.
