All participants will be shuttled to the start from Edgewater Park (location of transition #2) on race morning and no bicycles will be allowed on the buses. All buses will be leaving at 4:00am through 5:45am. If your family is dropping you off, please indicate this when registering online so we may plan accordingly.
Special Note: Family members watching the swim at North Coast Harbor may be required to stay until all participants have completed the swim and have left the park on their bicycles.
Participants will find ample parking at the designated parking area at Edgewater Park. Parking is $15.00 per vehicle and benefits a local charity. There is limited parking near the Great Lakes Science Center.
YES. You are required to rack your bike from 1:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday at transition #1 at the Great Lakes Science Center. No bikes will be allowed in or out of transition without a bike number and corresponding wristband. Transition security will be provided from the start of bike check-in until all bikes have exited transition #1 on race morning.
Yes. You may team up with two of your buddies and participate on a 3-person relay team (one swimmer, one biker and one runner). We offer relays for all distances.
Participants may drop off their bike-to-run transition gear bag on race morning from 3:30am to 5:45am at transition #2 at Edgewater Park. No one will be allowed in transition #2 without an official race wristband — security will be provided.
All participants will be issued two gear bags for your swim to bike transition. One for your warmup clothes and one for your swim gear. All participants are REQUIRED to place their swim/warmup gear into these bags before leaving transition. Volunteers will collect the bag and it will be returned to a designated area near the finish line at Edgewater Park. Customers have questions, you have answers. Display the most frequently asked questions, so everybody benefits.
Participants may start picking up their gear bags at 9:30am at Edgewater Park (near the finish line). Please be sure to keep your wristband on until after you pick up your gear bags.
NO. This a multi-lane major city highway
There will be tech support on site at transition #1 with several dozen pumps to use on race morning. If your wheels use a special adapter please be sure to bring that with you on race morning.

The water temperature will be in the low 70s to upper 70s depending on the weather the week of the race. Wetsuits will be allowed if under 78 degrees for age group participants.
Yes, all participants will be issued an official race swim cap and it MUST be worn during the entire swim portion of the race
Yes, but only from 6:00am to 6:20am.

Upon canceling your registration you will be emailed a coupon code that can be used to register for the following year when registration opens.

There will be NO aid stations on any of the bike. On the run course there will be water, ice and Gatorade at approximately every mile of the course. Please prepare accordingly.
