This program started during the height of the pandemic in 2020 with students from the Davis Aerospace & Maritime High School eager to learn all about the sport of triathlon. Given the many obstacles that were faced by these youth - juggling school, part-time jobs, family, the pandemic, plus learning a new sport  - the coaches were able to give safe coached practices at the Parker Hannifin Downtown YMCA. 

Once the weather changed to warmer temperatures, practices were transitioned outside. This transition was a great experience for these young athletes as it gave them the opportunity to understand the different elements of swim, bike, and run when not in a controlled environment.

There was an initial interest in about 30 kids from Davis A&M! From that, a core group of 4-8 formed and were able to make many of the practices.
